A Hike to the Plank Walk

Granny and Pa on the Plank Walk.
Wow. . .a picture of me. Now this is a rarity since I am usually behind the camera. Montana loves to hike, too.
We can't wait for the trees to have leaves.

An amazing thing happened. Just as we were finishing our Easter meal our friend Catherine and her son Tyler stopped by on their bikes.
We ended up going on a hike with them to the Plank Walk.
Very cool! A hike that we must do with our friends when you visit. . .kids will love it!

A Happy Easter

He is Risen. He is Risen Indeed!
Today we attended Tabor Lutheran Church in Branford, CT. It was a nice service and reminded me of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church that I grew up going to. It is the biggest ELCA Church in the area with 541 baptized members and 127 students in their sunday school program. A little different than Holy Cross, but nice.

Friday at the Children's Museum

Inside of a massive bubble!
Way Cool!
Hands on and fun, but nothing like the Kohl's Childrens Museum.
Designing a Safari Park.

Inside of a Sperm Whale. . .Connecticut's Sate Animal.

Our spring break began on Good Friday. We spent the day in West Hartford at The Children's Museum and in the downtown area. We picked up Granny and Pa from Bradley Airport and headed to Guilford!

Connor's Float Up Close

Connecticut, our new great state.
Connor's great artwork made his float unique. We discovered that moving boxes come in handy for all kinds of things!

More on State Night

New friends.
Each child designed a shirt that they wore on State Night.
Connor and Mrs. Verzella.
Dana and Connor. Dana lives across the street from us.

Let The Float Parade Begin!

So many floats!
Connor's Connecticut float.

The floats came in all sizes and shapes! The kids had such great ideas. Each float had to display in some way the state capital, nickname, and motto. Also the state bird, flower, and animal as well as the state flag, liscense plate, state song and when it became a state. Other interesting information like what your state is known for and famous people from your state was also included on each float.

State Night at A.W. Cox Rocks!

Concentrating and getting ready to perform the State Rap!
Complete with all the moves.
Connecticut Rocks.
Last night was State Night at Cox School. It was a huge production! The 3rd graders have been working on a State unit for the last 2 months. It all leads up to a huge program complete with a parade of floats and a spread of food from each state following a musical program celebrating our fifty great states! It was wonderful.

A View From My Window

Rollerblading in the driveway.
A great view from the kitchen window.

My dad asked me one day, "How many trees are in your backyard?" I said, "Well, let me see. . ."
It was too hard to count them. . .there are so many. I guess this is a better way to
understand the tree situation. I took this picture yesterday from my kitchen window
when it was 56 and sunny. Now we are just waiting for the leaves to pop!
We shot some hoops yesterday. . .yes, even mom! In fact, we played horse and at one point I was winning. It was really quite fun. The kids had their rollerblades on, too.
It just felt great to be outside encouraging spring to arrive and stay.

You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest.
Every moment you know where I am.
