His life has been such a blessing to so many people, but I don't think there is anyone luckier than me. Having a grandpa like him for over 40 years is a gift from God.
He is such an example to everyone around him.
I hope I can be just a little bit like him some day.
In Connecticut there are rocks everywhere! I love taking pictures of them, they have such great characteristics, their own personalities and charm. This is one of the best rock pictures I think I have taken so far. I think I might blow it up and hand it over the couch in my living room. Very Connecticuty. Simple beauty.
Resting before we head back.
When we finally got here there were about 15-20 beautiful hawks flying around the area of the quarry. . .it was awesome.
This is the quarry where the granite that is at the base of the Statue of Liberty is from. Pretty neat.
We made it. . .what a view of the quarry.
Okay, we are almost there.
Having a snack on the trail.
Sweet kids. . .
Silly Kids!
Very Silly Kids!
A cool shot. . .I love the lighting.
On the trail. . .
Cool history. . .
In case you didn't know this. . .if you click on the pictures posted on the blog you will see them full size and they are much more impressive!
Okay, so we took Montana with us again on another hike. This time we tried something new. . .we took the leash off. Wow, he was so good and it was so much easier! He really loves hikes. He also liked the frogs we saw. . .we were afraid that he might jump in after the little guy. . .he didn't. After hikes or spending any time outside at all you must "tick check" everyone! Ticks are nuts here. . .gives me and Larry the creeps.
Okay, this is not funny. I went in to be groomed as a Miniature Austrailian Shepherd and came out a bear cub. This is not what I had in mind. This is not how Patty cut my hair. . .she made me look handsome and now, well, I look ridiculous! Larry said, "All I can say is. . .better him than you!"
