Christmas Snow in Connecticut

A Gingerbread House Masterpiece

Tree Lighting on the Guilford Green

Our first tree lighting in Guilford! Let me paint the picture for you. First of all it was 60 degrees and we were all wearing vests and Christmas sweaters. The town green was full of people from all of Guilford. The churches were a-glow, fresh swags of green with red bows hung on the white picket fences, wreathes hung on every door and every window, and candles in every window. Up and down the streets of town Lumiere's outlined our path on both sides and Mason jars with candles and red ribbons were hung on trees and telephone poles. A portrait of a New England Christmas. After the tree was light we went inside to listen to an acapella choir from Yale. They were amazing and really got us in the spirit. We also heard St. Nick himself read The Night Before Christmas. It was a wonderful way to spend a Friday evening.

So Thankful!

The Renda's Came to Connecticut to celebrate Thanksgiving with us.
It was so wonderful to be with them like we were for so many other Thanksgivings in Libertyville. We had great hikes, great food, great laughs. . .just a great time!
The kids especially enjoyed each other. It was like we had never been apart.
What a special family. . .what a special friendship!

Make New Friends, But Keep The Old. . .

Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, the other, gold.
A circle is round, it has no end. That is how long I will be your friend.
A fire burns bright, it warms the heart. We've been friends from the very start.
I have one hand, you have the other. Put them together, we have each other.
Silver is prescious, gold is too. I am prescious and so are you.
You help me and I will help you. Together we can see it through.
The sky is blue, the earth is green. Helping each other we can keep it clean.
Across the land, across the sea. Friends forever we will always be!
